Aurora Horses And Humans Coaching
In the relentless pursuit of performance, we often forget the essential: the individuality of every living being.
Whether in our classrooms or in our equestrian careers, we tend to impose standardized methods, pre-established paths, without taking into account the unique rhythms and needs of those who are learning.
How many children, how many horses, get lost along the way, demotivated by a system that doesn't give them the space and time to thrive? How many brilliant minds are stifled, how much potential wasted, by a lack of patience, understanding, and adaptability?
Some educational systems want to impose an identical pace on everyone, as if learning were a straight line that everyone had to follow at the same rhythm. Where five steps will be necessary for one, only one will be needed for another. Could we avoid failures by respecting individual needs, without forcing them to follow a pace that is not theirs?
The system seems calibrated for a hypothetical "average learner." Result : we lose children and horses along the way. Because every brain, every experience is different. What works well for one will not work for another. Some may remain stuck in front of a learning that presents no difficulty for another.
The more we constrain a horse, the more we push it to its limits, and the less it will seek to understand. On the contrary, it will try to flee, defend itself, or end up suffering in silence. Rather than seeking to dominate, why not question the cause of its reactions? Listen to what silence or refusal is trying to tell us.
There are classes where neither teachers nor students want to be present, where everyone endures the moment. And then, there are these vibrant classes, where enthusiasm circulates freely, where learning becomes a living and stimulating exchange. Why not seek to cultivate this positive dynamic? Create desire, maintain curiosity, encourage cooperation.
From my point of view, whether with a child or with a horse, the key lies in understanding and collaboration. Let's take the time to observe them, listen to them, decode their signals. Let's adapt our methods to their needs, their rhythms, their personalities. Let's never forget that learning is a journey, not a race. A journey made of discoveries, surprises, moments of sharing and complicity.
Listen to understand
Work with and not against
Adapt to respect individual needs
Encourage to motivate
Create a relationship of mutual trust
Imagine training sessions :
where enthusiasm, curiosity, engagement replace stress, struggle, resistance.
where error is not synonymous with failure, but with an opportunity for learning.
where encouragement replaces constraint.
where subtle communication replaces force.
It's possible.
From my point of view, it's even essential. Because a horse that learns in joy and confidence is a self-regulating horse: manages his emotions, his behavior, and his physiological needs autonomously. He can then reveal his full potential. It's a horse that will become a partner, a guide for you, a friend.
I would like equestrian education to be more than just a technique. Rather, let it be a philosophy of life, an invitation to benevolence, humility, connection.
Are you interested in transforming training into a school of life, where horse and human learn and grow together?
So, the next time you're with your horse, ask yourself these questions :
Am I really listening to him, or am I just giving him orders?
Do I consider him a unique individual, with his own strengths and weaknesses, or do I apply a method to the letter?
Am I building a relationship of trust, or am I only seeking to obtain results?
Listening, patience, understanding, adaptation, collaboration, encouragement, mutual trust, desire to be together, to progress...
Learning is an endless journey, a shared adventure where each step brings us closer to understanding and fulfillment. Together, let's continue to explore new paths, cultivate benevolence, and celebrate every progress, small or large.
